Human Resources

Founded in 1998 to provide excellent care and service to Southwest Oklahoma's developmentally disabled population. In 2001 CAI began serving Central Oklahoma, today we serve Oklahomans through out Southwest and Central Oklahoma.

It is the philosophy of Community Access, Inc. (CAI) that all individuals have the right to develop to their fullest potential, the right to achieve their highest level of success, the right to e xercise their greatest degree of independence, and the right to establish and maintain a lifestyle which is fulfilling and responsible.  It is toward this end that every individual associated with CAI will strive.

Services at CAI are funded through the Medicaid Home and Community Based Waiver (HCBW) and the In-Home Support Waiver (IHSW). In order to recieve services through the waviers, each individual must apply with the Department of Human Services, De velopmental Services Division (DHS-DDSD) and be approved. The Department of Human Services determines the individual's eligibility and notifies them when they are permitted to begin services.

The HCBW is a Medicaid program that provides funding for community services to persons with developmental disabilities. The program provides for professional services, in-home support services, transportation services, vocational services and m edical supplies and equipment not covered by private insurance, Medicare or Medicaid. The needs of the individual are identified by a team consisting of the individual served, a guardian (if appointed), service providers, advocates and a DHS case manager. Funding for the services is approved by the Department of Human Services by a tier review process. Services are available for individuals aged 3 and up.

The IHSW is a Medicaid program that provides funding for community services to persons with developmental disabilities. The program provides for all the services of the HCBW program with the exception of transportation for persons under the age of 18. This program is capitated at a rate set by DHS with a rate for services for persons under 18 and one for persons over 18. The individual and his/her advocate/guardian are able to determine how they would like to use the allocated funds to secure t he approved services. This program was designed to assist faimlies in maintaining the family member in the home and providing maximum flexibility in using the resources.

Community Access, Inc is a privately owned corporation that contracts with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services and the state Medicaid program. The agency is evaluated annually by the Department of Human Services to insure quality of servi ces.
